Review: Park Avenue Beer Shampoo (for bouncy, shiny and voluminous hair)

Review: Park Avenue beer shampoo

Price: Rs. 160 for 200ml

Yes, you read right! Beer it is.

Beer is really good for hair. It gives volume and shine to hair instantly.

A lot of models and actresses use ‘pure drinking beer’ to rinse their hair and need I say how gorgeous their hair is!

Image

But it’s not possible for many girls to rinse their hair with beer, every time they wash it (Especially me!).

Why not!?

For starters it will be too expensive.

Plus if you are below 18, it will be sooo hard for you to be able to convince the shopkeeper that you are not an alcoholic but want it to rinse your hair! *WHAT!*

So, if we could get a shampoo with all the good qualities of a beer and it won’t also be a bomb in our pockets, then why not give it a try!

To be true I had no idea that “Beer Shampoo” exists, but I am happy they do! ;)

I found this shampoo in my nearby store and immediately bought it!

This is what the bottle looks like:

(Sorry but i don't know why all the pictures are tilted)

What does the packaging on the shampoo says:

‘Made from real beer’

Image

“This shampoo contains real beer which is famed to have excellent conditioning properties. Use Park Avenue Beer Shampoo regularly to leave your hair bouncy, shiny and full of volume”

Image

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Beer, Dimethiconol (and) TEA Dodecylbenzenesulfonate (and) Laureth-23, Cocoamidopropyl Polyquaternium-10, Guar HydroxyPropyltrimonium Chloride, Bis( C13-15 Alkoxy) PG Amodimethicone, Methychloroisothiazolinone & Methylisothiazolinone, Benzophenone-4, Tetra sodium Edta, Citric acid, Diethyl phthalate, C.I 15985, C.I 19140

Alcohol content: 0.25% w/v Diethyl Phthalate.?
Okay, be honest!

How many of you skipped reading the above ingredient part? :p

Net quantity: 200 ml

MRP  Rs.160 (INR)

My experience with this shampoo:

As you can see the bottle does exactly look like beer, BUT it also smells like beer!

My bottle is almost half now, which means I have used it quite a lot.

My hair is straight, which is why it looks like it doesn’t have a lot of volume.

So this shampoo did give me volume and even though it smells like beer the smell went away once my hair was dry.

I don’t use conditioner or any fancy hair mask, so it does make your hair feel soft without using anything else.

Another thing about this shampoo is that it doesn’t lather a lot like some shampoos, which is a good thing because this shows that it has less harmful chemicals in it! Yayyy!!

Verdict:

I also made my mum try this and even she liked it, her hair has more volume now, and even one of friends complimented me saying that my hair look more voluminous than before.

I would definitely recommend this to any girl or boy who wants to add volume and shine to their hair.

I am going to leave few pictures of my hair, right after I used it (dry hair of course because wet won’t show any results) to show you guys the results better.

Also, I need help on which article I should write first:

  • Heat-less hair waves using absolutely nothing!

  • Summer tips to keep odor and sweat away from your body and face!

  • Fun DIY to use any old lotion/ body cream/ face moisturizer to make an exfoliator!

  • Simple face mask to kill any zit in a day!

The reason why I am asking for help is because it will take me at least 2-3 days to write one article and I want to post what you guys prefer first.

These are the four options, leave the suggestion in the comments or tweet it @Cbeautieshubhi

I would love to talk to you guys here, through comments or through twitter.

You have no idea how even one positive comment from you guys inspires me to do more and more.

♥ Take care lovelies! ♥ :)

Beautiful hair therapy at home! (Very easy)

Summer season is here, well almost;
which reminds me, have you noticed how your hair become healthier in summers as compared to winters?

Do you know why?

Well i am no scientist, but my brain came up with this reason (that i believe is true) :

You know how the pores on our skin and scalp open up when they come in contact with anything warm/hot, and close with contact of cold thing?

So, in summers our pores open up due the heat in the air around us and vice-versa in winters. Which means whatever you apply to your skin or hair will absorb better. Great, right?

Hence, summer is the best time to give your hair the much needed therapy after harsh winters. I am not going to share fancy hair treatments in this post (there will be another post on it when i get over with my exams) but i am gonna share few oil treatments which are already in your kitchen, to get healthy hair.

1. Coconut oil rejuvenating treatment: Dry, dull, damaged, over processed, heat damaged, frizzy curls, you name it! Coconut oil is the solution to all your problems girls and boys. Coconut oil is the only oil that penetrates the deepest in your skin and hair super easily. It helps retain the natural protein of hair hence making it more healthier.

Treatment method:

• Simply take one or two spoons of coconut oil ( virgin or simple, both are good).

• Massage the oil into your hair. Don't use nails on the scalp ever, it will damage the skin and may cause dandruff as well, which is nothing but the peeled skin of the scalp.

image

•Massage using your fingertips and cover up with shower cap to trap the heat (If you don't have one use a normal plastic bag to cover up or even a hot towel).

• Let this sit for atleast 20-30 minutes or overnight if you can.

• Wash off normally, make sure all the oil is out though. You should see results after the first or second time of using this.

2. Olive oil treatment: Being rich in vitamin E this oil makes a great mask for dry and damaged hair.

image

Treatment method:

•Apply as much oil as required according to the length of your hair.
• Leave on for 20-30 minutes or one hour. Cover with a shower cap/plastic bag/hot towel.
• Wash off normally.

Tips and other information:

1. You can use both the hair treatment on dry or damp hair. Try out both to see what works best for you. :)

2. Massage atleast for two minutes to help your hair absorb better.

3. Dont massage vigorously, use you fingertips and massage gently.

4. Olive oil may weigh down your hair, it depends on your hair type. In this case mix half amount of coconut oil and half amount of olive oil and use this.

5. Actually anyone can use this. Just mix equal quantity of both the oils and use. This way you will get benefits of both the oil at the same time.

6. Its very important that whatever treatment you use homemade or any product, focus on the tips and ends of your hair as they are the most damaged and damage-prone part.

How To Wash Hair The Correct Way:

•Start by soaking you hair fully with lukewarm water ( yes, even in summers) This will actually open the pores and the dirt trapped in will be shampooed fully.

•Always make sure the last rinse is done with cold water, be it after shampoo or conditioner. This will close the pores and the goodness of shampoo, conditioner or any product that you used will be trapped in.

•Lastly, the most important tip is to let your hair dry naturally.
No rubbing towel on hair roughly or blow drying.

Happy healthy hair sugar's!

Feel free to leave your thoughts or special tips through comments.

I am off to bed now.

Night! :)

I chose brown because I have only one brown pencil eyeliner. The waterproof property is great, I tried rubbing it with water, but it didn't fade much.

Please don't mind my nails !!

the visible lines are the ones that i tried at home to show you guys how it really looks like and the faded lines are the ones that at tried at the shop. it is faded because i washed my hands with soap.

I've never had eyebrow set before that's why I think I should buy one. Usually I use my Face Shop matt brown eyeshadow or my eyebrow pencils. It comes in 2 color ,light brown and dark brown, plus I love the case ,it is just cool and cute at the same time.

Party Lover Cake Eyebrow

The last one is hand cream. The package is orange sharp just like the name. It comes in 2 smell, the other one is peach,of course with peach sharp package. The smell and texture are exactly like my misha mango body butter that I got from Japan.

DIY: Off-shoulder top! (No stitching or extra skill required)

DIY off-shoulder top: Image We all have some T-shirts that we never wear or don't like, or a t-shirt that we like so much that we almost wear it everyday and when it starts getting old and loose it's charm we feel heart-broken, maybe! :) Today I will share a simple method with you that you can do and transform any t-shirt to a classy off the shoulder top with nothing but a pair of scissor. Sounds good right? I tried this on two of my t-shirt and failed in the first try, but the second one turned out great! But I forgot to take pictures both the times and was left with no choice but to use this old blue t-shirt that i absolutely hate! And yeah the picture quality is really bad so sorry about that in advance. Lets begin now! :) (P.S: Read the tips given down below for sure, because I will tell some very important points there.) Things you will need:

  • Any scissor that will cut through the fabric easily, almost any sharp scissor will.

Image

  • Any t-shirt that you want to convert into off the shoulder top.

Method:

  • Lay the t-shirt on a flat surface, in my case bed. Grab your scissor.

Image (See how bad this t-shirt is! Now yo know why I don't like it! :/)

  • It's your choice which side you want to the top to go off-shoulder. I have chosen left side.

  • Make a small cut near the neck of the top to the side which you want to be on the shoulder which in my case is right side,

Image

  • Notice how I made the cut very close to the stitching of the neck on the side which I want to be on my shoulder (right side).

Image

  • Now make the cut on the other side, which will be our off the shoulder side. But this time make the cut a little away from the neck, like so:

Image (P.S: See the tips below to know how far should you make the cut)

  • Start cutting the neck from the right side (on the shoulder side), but be very close to the stitch.

Image (Bad picture quality, yes!:( *sigh* )

  • Cut all the way, but stop a few inches before reaching the end.

ggggggggggggggg

  • Now cut in the direction of the arrow, this time keep it a little away from the neck's stitch.8

  • Once the whole neck is separated stretch the shirt from the neck to loosen the fabric and give it a rusty look.

9

  • I have used a full-sleeve t-shirt here so i cut the arms as well. If you are using half one skip this step.

10

  • Now your Very self made off the shoulder top is ready to wear.

  • This is what mine looked like:

11 Tips:

  • You can use any t-shirt, full sleeves or half sleeves.

  • Do NOT make the cut too far away from neck to the off-shoulder side.

  • See the fabric of your shirt Before making the cut.

  • If the cloth is thin, like mine do not keep the distance long or it will become off the hand top. Lol. Okay maybe i exaggerated. :D

Best idea is to first cut the whole neck close to it's stitching and then you can alter the off shoulder side according to your liking. Is this confusing? :/ Okay so I did my best to make this tutorial as simple as i could.   Hope you give this a try. If you have any questions leave a comment down below and i will reply to them instantly! Until next time lovelies! :) Few more pictures of the shirt: The sleeves: DSC01613 Sleeves again: DSC01615 You can even talk to me on twitter here: @Cbeautieshubhi If you want any information on anything let me know. :)

DIY: Detan home remedy!

Some people look amazing with tan, some don't.

I, definitely am in the don't list.

Being born with sensitive skin, I get tanned very easily. :(

If you have the similar problem, or want to get rid of the bad tan use this simple remedy.

Things you will need;

  • 1 Tomato.

Image

  • Lemon juice- 2

Method:

  • Squeeze out all the pulp from the tomato.
  • Add two spoons of lemon juice in it.
  • If the tomato is big, add 3-4 spoons of lemon juice.
  • Apply it on your face and wash off after 10 minutes with cold water.

Tips:

  • The amount of lemon juice you add is not fixed, add according to your skin's preference.
  • If your skin is sensitive add less, if you skin is oily add at least two spoons.
  • If you are using this in the afternoon, apply sunscreen as the lemon juice has when comes in contact with sun's harmful rays will harm your skin and the skin will become more prone to tanning.

Use this for 20 days, and you will notice a reduction in the tan.

Ta-da! :)

Home made face pack for blemishes and acne scars.

As much as acne lowers one's self-esteem, so does blemishes and acne scars.

One moment you are happy that the monstrous zit is gone but as soon as you see the scar left behind all your happiness fades away.

Everybody wants clear and even skin, but with those stubborn acne scars it becomes difficult to achieve such skin.

Acne scars appear when a spot doesn't heal properly, for example: when you pop up a zit.

This pack will help those stubborn scars and blemishes fade away with time.

Things you will need:

  • Bowl and a spoon

Image

  • Sandalwood powder

Image

  • Rosewater.
  • Any clean brush to apply the mask (very, very optional)

Image

Method:

  • Take 1 to 1 & a 1/2 spoon of sandalwood powder in a clean bowl and add one spoon full of rose water in it.
  • Add more rose water until the mixture forms a medium consistency paste.
  • Apply this all over your face and neck.
  • Wash off after the pack starts drying, with cold water.

Sandalwood is very soothing and cooling on the face.

Rose water is an natural toner, hence it will help clean the pores of your skin well.

Together this mixture will calm the skin and the scars and help them heal.

Hope you give this a try.

Until next time. :)
