Homemade body scrub! For all skin types. (with pictures)

We often scrub our face, but pay very little or no attention to our body.
Just like our face it is important to scrub away the dead skin cells of our body as well.

When we scrub our body, it removes all the dead skin cells that block the new skin cells to reach the surface of our skin. This is the reason why it is so important to scrub your body at least once a week.
Scrubbing also allows skin to absorb the products that you use, better.

Now that we know why scrubbing is so important, here are two different recipes to make your own body scrub with the ingredients easily available in your kitchen.

The olive oil and honey scrub:
This scrub is for people who suffer from dry skin.
This scrub will provide nourishment to your skin, along with scrubbing away the unwanted dead skin cells gently.

Things you will need to make the scrub:
• 2 table spoon Olive oil
• 1 teaspoon of honey, and
• 5-6 spoons of granulated sugar.

How to make the scrub:
• In a mixing bowl add two table spoons of extra virgin olive oil.

• Now add honey to this, you can alter the ratio of honey and oil according to your own liking.

• At last add granulated sugar to this mixture until it forms a thick paste.

Mix well.

This is how it looks:

You can easily make a large batch by multiplying the amount and store it in a container. This will stay good to use for a complete month.

This is my favorite scrub of all times.
Remember that the olive oil and the honey together can be extremely moisturizing, So if you have normal or oily skin use lemon instead of olive oil.
I personally use lemon juice.

The second recipe is a great way to use some unused creams and moisturizers that are just lying around your home to make amazing homemade body scrub.

The Body lotion scrub:

For this scrub you can use any cream or body lotion or moisturizer that you don’t use or don’t mind making a body scrub out of it.

Things you will need to make the scrub:
• Any moisturizer or cream or lotion of your choice, and
• Enough Sea salt to make a thick paste.

How to make the scrub:
• Take one-fourth cup of lotion, or according to your requirement.

• Then add enough sea salt to make a thick paste like consistency and mix well.

As easy as this scrub looks, it is a good way to empty those unused bottles and provide extra nourishment to the body.

The best thing about this scrub is that if your moisturizer or lotion has a nice fragrance, you will be smelling good all day long. :)
Scrub your body every week or once a fortnight to keep it healthy and radiant!
And the best thing about this scrubs are that they are inexpensive.
Have fun scrubbing!

Until next time! :)
