Aspirin/Disprin mask for: Clear Skin, Clean Pores, Curing Acne & Much More! (With pictures)

When I first got to know that aspirin and disprin, apart from being consumed internally can also be used on The Face, I have to admit that I did not believe it at all.
I spent weeks researching whether this was for real or not!
After spending several days and nights reading about the safety of this mask, I finally decided to give it a try.
Before moving on how to make the mask, let me tell you why this thing works.

How does aspirin or disprin cure acne?
Aspirin and Disprin both consist of Salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid unclogs pores and increases cell turnover.
It penetrates deep inside pores and exfoliates them and unclogs the residue that causes acne.
And even if you don’t have acne, this will clean the pores to its very end.

Remember:
When you go to buy aspirin make sure that it is the uncoated one, because coated one won’t work.
The reason is that coated aspirin has a layer over it, that does not dissolve.
This is a coated aspirin:

Image

The colour varies depending on each company.
I dissolved this one in water for 15 minutes, and the skin became soft enough to peel off:

Image

Image

LOL! i salvaged the pill.

Once, the skin is soft it's easy to peel it off.

Image

Image

After peeling the skin off.
Now this is the uncoated aspirin, if you want you can use this as well, but uncoated one is easily available as well.

Also, remember that there are different mgs of aspirin available in the market, if you have sensitive skin start with the lowest one available.

Method of preparation of the mask:

You Need:
• 2-3 tablets of aspirin or disprin, depending on the area that you want to apply this to.

Image

Disprin.

Image

Aspirin.

• A few drops of honey
• A few drops of clean water.
• A plate/bowl.

How to make this mask:
• Place the tablets in the plate or palm, like so:

Image

OR

Image
• Now, add a few drops of water to it

Image
• I am using disprin here because I couldn't find aspirin.
• Once, it soaks all the water and starts rising up. This is how it looks:

Image

Image

add few drops of honey.

Image

Image
• Mix well and apply on the entire face or just a patch, whatever you want.
• Once it dries, wash off with Luke warm water.
• Apply moisturizer, and you are done.

Image

Some Important points to keep in mind:
• Avoid going out in the sun after using this mask, as your skin will be more sensitive. The best time to use this mask is in the evening or at night.
• If you have sensitive skin, use it on a simple patch instead of the entire face to check out if this is okay for you.
• Use as low mg of aspirin as possible, the first time.
• Remember the effect of the mask is entirely on how strong the tablet is i.e. the stronger the aspirin the quick the results.
• This mask can be very drying, that is why we have added honey to it, so make sure that you don’t overdo this.
• Do not use this more than once or twice a week.

If you still have any questions, just leave them in the comments down below.

I hope you give this a try and let me know the results.
Thank you for reading.

Ciao! :)

Home made face masks to treat acne!

By Namita,

Source: www.stylecraze.com

Before we start off, keep in mind:

Always, ALWAYS moisturize after washing the pack off.
Always apply the pack on clean and dry face. A Little dampness helps in better and faster absorption by the skin.
Do not keep any pack on the face for more than 20 minutes, or after it dries. If you keep it after it dries, it absorbs moisture off you which is not a good thing.
Pre and post wash of face during pack application with Luke warm water enhances the benefits.
Mild exfoliation before application also helps in for a better result.
Any home remedy for acne and acne scars needs at least two weeks of regular application for visible results.
Home Made face Packs For Acne Recipes:

1. Multani Mitti(Clay or fuller's earth) Face Pack:

This is a god send to those of us with oily skin. Multan mitti (Fuller’s Earth) is easily available in general stores.

Ingredients:

Multani Mitti/ Fuller’s Earth
Rose water
Lemon juice
Method :

Make a paste of multani mitti(fuller's earth), few drops of rose water and a pinch of lemon for a refreshing face pack.
Multani mitti draws excess oil off your face and dries the existing pimples.
Rose water freshens and moisturizes your skin while lemon juice fades the acne scars.

2. Besan(Chickpea flour) and Curd Face Pack:

Ingredients:

Besan /Chick Pea flour
Curd
Method:

Mix in two spoonful’s of besan (chick pea flour) and sufficient curd to make a good paste.
Apply it and let it dry.
When it’s completely dry, dampen it and with mild, circular motion, scrub your skin.

3. Mint Face Pack For Acne:

Image

Mint leaves(pudina leaves) makes for a wonderful face pack.

Ingredients:

Ground Pudhina/ Mint leaves
Honey
Method :

Grind some pudina(mint) leaves, add in a dash of honey and let it be on your pretty face until it dries.
Wash off.
It might tingle on pimples but that is okay, they are very close to meeting their end.

4. Lemon juice + Honey Face Mask for Pimples:

Image

This is your Knight in Shining Armor. Having struggled with acne all my teenage, and enjoying the realms of a clear skin only recently, I am telling you! Go for it! Honey face packs with lemon are the best of the best.

Lemon juice is acidic and citric; it bleaches your skin, helping you get rid of scars and tan.

Ingredients:

Lemon juice
Rose water if needed
Honey
Method:

Apply lemon juice on face post wash. It will tingle and burn and you won’t love it. But it absolutely works. If your skin is too sensitive, then dilute lemon juice with rose water to lessen the acidity.
After fifteen minutes, follow up with honey.
This helps moisturize as honey is a humectant. You can leave honey on your face however long you want to. Your skin will glow in a couple of weeks and you can see it

5. Cucumber Face Mask:

Cucumber extracts heat from body. This reduces inflammation of your pimples and reduces their appearance.

Ingredients:

Cucumber pulp and juice
Method :

Grate cucumber, strain the juice.
Refrigerate the pulp.
When it’s cold enough, use the pulp to pick the juice and moisten your face, one spot at a time.
Once you feel the pulp warm up, dip in the cold juice again and repeat for other spots.
This unclogs your skin’s pores and cools down the system.
Place slices of cucumber on your eyes for a spa effect.
You can also add in two spoons full of rich yogurt to the pulp without draining it. Apply the mixture and leave it on for a while, say thirty minutes, and wash off.

These are some very effective Homemade face packs for acne scars and acne prone skin that can be made easily at home. Do use them and let me know how it worked on you.

All about makeup for acne prone skin.

Acne is often genetic, but almost everyone experiences a breakout at some point in their lives. Hormonal changes related to puberty, pregnancy, menopause, birth control or your menstrual cycle can all do a number on your sebaceous (oil) glands, along with diet, stress, smoking, oily beauty products and certain medications. It all starts with a clogged pore: Your skin produces too much sebum, which then mixes with bacteria and dead skin cells to form a “plug” like a blackhead or whitehead. A blocked pore can also burst and spread beneath the surface of your skin to cause a tiny infection, also know as a pimple.

Makeup for acne prone skin must be selected with care. While advice and recommendations can be sought from your doctor or a dermatologist it is also true that you will have to arrive at decisions about products that suit you by some experimentation.

If you have acne prone skin, you will be someone who has certainly focused a large amount of attention on your skin. You will be aware of its weaknesses and strengths since you will have tried a variety of acne fighting products to solve your problem with acne.

This is the best place from which to start searching for the right cosmetics to use that will neither cause acne eruptions, nor aggravate existing pustules and zits. If the tendency to break out in acne is a rather new occurrence for you and as a result you have not researched your own skin before, you will have to embark on a process of trial and error to determine the best make up for you.

CLEANSER:

Your cleanser is the first item to consider. Makeup for acne prone skin must be taken off with a good cleanser that is compatible with your skin. Oily skins should be cleansed with liquid cleanser and bar soaps which rinse off easily. Synthetic detergents with a gentle action and face soaps which are hard milled are appropriate for dry skins. A normal skin can take a choice of soap gel, liquid cleanser or soaps. While cleansing grains, loofahs and brushes should be avoided by sensitive skins, which will also have a low tolerance of preservatives and fragrances found in some cleansing agents.

Makeup for acne prone skin must be oil free which means their ingredients should not include any type of oleaginous components like lanolin or petrolatum, isopropyl esters or myristates, and stearic or oleic acids. For those of you who have those embarrassing lesions, skin camouflage underneath an opaque foundation are a good suggestion. Semi matte foundations which are moist are excellent for this purpose.

USE OF COLOUR:

Clever use of coloured Hyperflage camouflage creams will decrease the visibility of your scars:

Lavender covers yellow marks

Mauve covers brown and blue-black marks

Yellow covers white scars, blue and purple marks

Green covers redness from acne burns

A transparent loose powder on top of the oil free foundation will keep your make up intact longer.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR:

All of your makeup, from blush to eye shadow, should be non-greasy, non-comedogenic (or non-acnegenic), hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and oil-free. Read the ingredients -- the very first one should be water. Mineral-based cosmetics contain added ingredients like silica, titanium dioxide, and zinc oxide, which both absorb oil and hide redness without irritating skin and causing pimples. Another ingredient to look for is dimethicone, which also conceals redness while smoothing out uneven skin.

FOUNDATION:

Pick a makeup colour that compliments your skin tone. When applying foundation, a little goes a long way. Use about a quarter-sized amount, and blend it into your entire face. Allow your foundation to dry for a few minutes before putting on the rest of your makeup.

If you notice that your skin is red, itchy, or swollen after you apply a certain type of makeup, stop using it. Some ingredients in cosmetics cause an allergic irritation known as contact dermatitis in certain people.

Perfect your complexion

1. Prep your skin While you can’t affect how much oil your skin produces topically, using a toner like Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner will soak up oil without stripping the skin.

START WITH CLEAN SKIN: Clean your skin with a gentle cleanser that won't strip skin of its natural moisturizers (many dermatologists recommend Cetaphil). Wash with lukewarm water (hot water will strip your skin of nutrients) and pat dry (don't rub) with a clean wash rag. Keep several wash rags nearby and use a clean one each day to prevent spreading pore-clogging bacteria.

2 APPLY ACNE TREATMENTS: Now apply any acne treatments if you use any, directly onto clean skin. Allow a minute or so for the medications to be absorbed.

3 APPLY A SUN PROTECTANT MOISTURIZER: Next, add a good, all over moisturizer with at least SPF 15. What's that you say? With your oily skin moisturizer is the last thing you need! In fact, dry skin will trigger your glands to produce more oil in an effort to rehydrate the skin. So by keeping the skin properly hydrated in the first place, you allow your skin to spend more time glowing and less time making grease! The SPF will protect your skin from the sun's UV radiation, which can cause premature aging, dull looking skin and an increased risk of skin cancer.

Apply a light, oil-free cream labeled “non-comedogenic” or “non-acnegenic” like Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture SPF 35 and wait a few minutes to let it absorb.

4 ADD PRIMER (Optional): If you have scars from previous pimples or struggle with dry or uneven skin, a makeup primer can increase skin's firmness and help foundation go on smoother. If using, place a small dollop on each side of your nose and smooth outwards.

5 CONCEAL BLEMISHES: Now you can lightly apply concealer to your broken out areas. Ideally, try to use a concealer that you can apply using cleaned fingertips. However, if your concealer requires the use of an applicator sponge, use a clean one each time (you can buy extras at your local drug store). Leave the concealer on the blemish for 5-10 seconds before blending to allow time for it to adhere to its spot. Green hued concealers do a great job of offsetting aggravated pimples (Green offsets red). However, if you have dry, flaky blemishes, you may want to go with a traditional concealer that is one shade slightly darker than your normal skin tone. The green hue can get caught behind flaky skin and fail to blend in completely.

. Get even Using your fingers or a concealer brush, spot-apply a creamy concealer like Urban Decay Surreal Skin Creamy Concealer under your eyes and the corners of your nose. Next, apply a light layer of matte foundation like Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse if you like a little more coverage. Or go for a tinted moisturizer like Lorac protect-TINT Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer if you prefer a more natural look. Use your fingers and start at the middle of your face and blend outward. Using a concealer brush, dot a matte concealer that contains salicylic acid like Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer on any

6 TIME FOR FOUNDATION: If you wear foundation, apply it now. (You can skip foundation altogether if using mineral face powder). Gently smooth on foundation using light layers to allow your skin to breathe.

7 FINISH UP WITH FACE POWDER AND YOUR COLORS OF CHOICE: Add a dusting of facial powder and finish up with your blush, eye shadow or lipstick of choice.

8 REMOVE MAKEUP BEFORE SLEEPING: Your beauty rest will stay true to it's name if you remember to remove your makeup and remoisturize before heading to bed. Follow the same washing tips listed in step one. Then follow up with your acne medication and a moisturizing night cream. Not just for wrinkles, night cream will help your face heal from blemishes and provide you with smoother, healthier skin come morning time.

Extra tips:

  • Blemishes: Gently blend around the area without touching the pimple. Set makeup with a light dusting of clear powder like Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder.
  • Warm up Go for a matte powder bronzer like Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder. Using a large, fluffy brush, dust the bronzer where the sun would naturally kiss your face: your forehead, the bridge of your nose, cheekbones and chin. Sweep what’s left on the brush over your neck so it all blends in.
  • Go rosy Your most natural shade of blush is the color that you, well, blush naturally. (It’ll be in the pink family—nobody blushes tangerine or eggplant, notes Glick.) No matter your skin type, powder is easiest to apply and lasts the longest. Load up a blush brush, shake off the excess and sweep it over the apples of your cheeks. Soften and blend the color with a clean powder brush.
  • Control shine If your face gets shiny after a few hours, lightly dust your T-zone with more powder—or soak up oil without adding another layer of makeup by dabbing your T-zone with Tweezerman Facial Blotting Paper.
  • There is one requirement, though -- always wash the makeup off your face before going to bed. You need clean skin before applying topical medications anyway, and a nightly cleansing will not only remove makeup but sweat, dirt, and excess oil too.

Prevention of acne scars(Acne scarring)

Prevent spot:

1. Keep your face clean. Whether or not you have acne, it's important to wash your face daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and excess oil from the skin surface. Use warm, not hot, water and a mild facial cleanser. Using a harsh soap (like deodorant body soap) can injure the already inflamed skin and cause more irritation.

Image

Avoid scrubbing your skin harshly with anything. Gently wash it with your clean hands or a very soft cloth. Always rinse well, and then dry your face with a clean towel.

2. Use makeup sparingly. During a flare-up, try to avoid wearing foundation, powder, or blusher. If you do wear makeup, wash it off at the end of the day. If possible, select oil-free cosmetics without added dyes and chemicals. Water-based cosmetics are available. Read the ingredients list on the product label before buying.

3. Be careful about what you put on your hair. Avoid using fragrances, oils and harsh chemicals on your hair. These ingredients can drip on the face, blocking the skin pores and irritating the skin. Stick to a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Oily hair can add to the oil on your face, so wash hair often, especially during an outbreak of spots. If your hair is long, keep it pulled off your face.

4. Keep your hands off your face. Avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin.

5. Treat acne as soon as it develops. The most effective way to avoid acne scarring is by preventing acne from developing into a more severe form. Don't wait to see if acne will go away on its own. Begin treatment right away, and see your doctor if your acne is unresponsive to over-the-counter treatments.

6.Avoid inflammation, if possible. Inflamed acne lesions are much more likely to cause scars than non-inflamed lesions. Avoid doing anything that may further irritate your skin. This may include aggressive scrubbing, harsh skin care products, etc.

7.Don't squeeze, pop, or pick at pimples. Squeezing a pimple can force debris deeper into the follicle, spread infection, and worsen a blemish. When you pick at the skin, it can cause acute inflammation and seriously damage the skin's tissue. Remind yourself that "popping" that pimple can extend the healing time and may cause a permanent scar. Allow the blemish to heal on its own.

Image

8. As soon as you see the smallest sign of acne, apply toothpaste to that area and leave for 1 hour or whole night.

Image

9. Rubbing ice cubes soothes skin and controls acne and prevents scarring.

10. Eat healthy.

Home remedies:

Apply natural aloe Vera gel on the problem areas as soon as you get any type of acne showing up. This will help the area stay moisturized and assist the area in healing during the acne cycle.

Image

Again, Make sure that your acne gets treated as soon as any type of acne appears. The sooner the acne is dealt with, the less chance for any type of marks being left behind.

Make sure that a separate towel is used for your face after cleansing. When you have acne, the bacteria that is naturally all over your body could make acne worse if rubbed on your face, so using two separate towels will eliminate this from becoming an issue.

Follow a healthy diet that is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin E, and zinc. This combination of vitamins is going to help your entire body stay healthier, heal faster, and regenerate new skin cells more quickly.

TIPS to control and get rid of acne.

I already published the introduction article where i told what this whole series is about.

Part one of this series starts here.

...................................................................................................................................

Here are few tips that you should follow to control your acne.

This is going to be divided into two parts:

  1. Easy

  2. Advanced

Super easy part is going to have very basic steps whereas; easy ones are going to be a little enhanced.

Let’s begin! :)

Super Easy

  • Beauty sleep: We all know stress can be harmful for us both, physically and mentally. Getting sleep of at-least 7-8 hours is very important as your body, mind and skin needs a break from all the stress you put it through whole day.

Image

  • Cleanse Twice a Day: The face has more oil-producing glands than any other parts of the body. Top that with a day’s worth of makeup, sweat, smog, dust, and dirt, and you’re left with a pore-clogging concoction that, if not washed away regularly, will seep into and clog pores, resulting in blackheads and pimples. Even if you don’t shower twice a day, it’s important to cleanse your face in the morning and at night. ( you can use Himalaya neem face wash, also check the review and it’s pictures here: http://crystalbeautie.wordpress.com/2013/03/13/review-himalya-purifying-neem-face-wash/)

  • Exfoliate: Dead skin cells mix up with dust and oil clog your pores and lead to acne. It gets really important to exfoliate to get rid of those dead skin cells. Buy a gentle one. (If you want a natural, homemade exfoliant check this simple recipe with just one ingredient)

  • Drink Water: Drinking water is a great way to flush out internal toxins and hydrate your skin from the inside out.

Image

Your body needs to neutralize and get rid of waste materials produced during metabolism (by drinking water). When the immune system weakens, the body finds itself unable to fight toxic substances alone. This raises the levels of toxins and ultimately, the inner detoxification system gets weak, and you have more breakouts.

  • De-Germ Your Cell Phone: Several studies have shown that cell phones are hotbeds for germs. Throughout the day your phone is exposed to thousands of bacteria, which spreads from your fingers (via texting) to your face (via talking) and vice versa. In addition, the heat produced by your phone can aid in the multiplication of bacteria. Yuck! To keep the germs from landing on your face, wipe the surface of your phone with a little hand sanitizer each day.

Image

 Advanced

  • Consume less sugar: Certain foods cause blood glucose to rise rapidly, triggering a boost in insulin and resulting in inflammation on a cellular level. Excess levels of insulin in the bloodstream trigger a hormonal cascade and endocrine response that can lead to the growth of pore-clogging cells, as well as overactive oil gland activity.

A study published in the American Journal of Nutrition found that people who consumed a low-glycemic diet, which included more whole grains, beans, and vegetables, and limited white pasta, rice, bread, and sugar, had fewer breakouts.

  • Exercise:  Exercise reduces stress (which has been found to contribute to the production of acne lesions), regulates your hormone levels, increases circulation that delivers more oxygen to skin cells and carries cellular wastes away, and boosts your immune system. But there’s a fine line -  sweat from exercise can also lead to breakouts via skin irritation. It is very important to remove any perspiration-trapping garments like sports bras, and to shower immediately after working out.

  • Wear sunscreen: The sun dries out skin, hence you feel that your skin is less-oily/pimpled. And if you don’t wear sunscreen and your skin gets burned, the inflammation aggravates acne lesions and pores, potentially leading to worsening acne.

It’s important to wear SPF each and every time you’re in the sun. Read the ingredients list on the back of your sunscreen, and if you’re acne-prone, look for the lighter, non-occlusive chemical ingredients like avobenzone, oxybenzone, methoxycinnamate, or octocylene. Physical sunblocks containing zinc oxide or titanium oxide tend to be thicker and sometimes more likely to block pores and aggravate acne-prone skin.

Image

  • Consume Omega-3 Fatty Acids:  It seems like there’s no end to the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids (aka “good fats”). And here’s one more for you: Omega-3s have been shown to control the production of leukotriene B4, a molecule that can increase sebum and cause inflammatory acne. To reap the benefits of the complexion-perfecting nutrient, pop a daily omega-3 supplement, or add foods like walnuts, avocados, flaxseed oil, and salmon into your diet.

  • Style Strands Carefully: Pomade acne is a common condition characterized by breakouts that are caused by hair-care products including conditioner, shampoo, gel, and hairspray. This form of acne occurs when the oils from styling products seep into skin, usually around the hairline, and trap acne-causing bacteria in pores. To combat, apply the hair products before you wash your face so that any pimple-producing residue can be washed away.

Tips:

  •  For good skin care, start developing healthy habits that will take care of your skin. It's the only skin you'll ever have, so your daily habits mean everything.

  • After you cleanse your skin, follow with a toner and moisturizer  Toners help remove fine traces of oil, dirt and make-up that you may have missed when cleansing. Moisturising is necessary even for people with oily skin.

  • Buy a moisturizer that is best suited for your skin type (dry, normal or oily)

  • Eat a balanced diet. Eat a healthy and balanced diet. Avoid fried and greasy foods.

  • I am no skin expert so if your condition is getting worse each day do not hesitate to go to a good dermatologist.

  •  Love yourself. It is said that if you believe and tell your mind often that you are beautiful your skin will start listening to your mind and work that way. So, believe! :)

Hope this helped, see you soon.

I am working on the other parts too, they will be up soon. :)
